As expected there have not been any problems and some businesses in Menlo Park are getting an increase on Wednesday nights. The people arguing against it were dead wrong, but will never admit it. However, I still refuse to eat at Una Mas or Round Table because of the comments they made and the opposition to OTG. They seem to think they own Menlo Park customers and the public parking places.

Recognize that if Measure M were to pass experiments in the Downtown Specific Plan area like this could be blocked by anyone using the "frustrate" clause and then only a judge or a city wide election could resolve the challenge. The challenge could be totally frivolous and without merit but there is no way that the City staff would proceed in the face of such a challenge with the protection of a court order or a $95,000 city wide vote.
"Consistent with the Planning and Zoning Law and applicable case law, the City shall not adopt any other new provisions or amendments to the Policy Planning Documents that would be inconsistent with or FRUSTRATE the implementation of the voter-adopted development standards and definitions set forth in Section 3, above, absent voter approval of a conforming amendment to those voter-adopted provisions.
