Fifth-grader raises money to buy gear for basketball program

For fifth-grader Shay Patel, basketball is more than just a pastime. It's a passion. So it's no surprise that this summer, the Menlo Park native began a crowd-funding campaign to bring basketball equipment to 60 low-income students involved in after-school basketball at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula.
