Crime doesn't pay, War on Drugs…Steve Wagstaffe

Original post made by Michael G. Stogner, another community, on Aug 15, 2014

We have all heard about our War on Drugs, and Crime doesn't pay.

Lets see if San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe is on the same page. Here is a current case involving over 5,000 lbs of marijuana valued at $23,000,000 (which I hope we the county can sell)….1 year jail

Looks like crime does pay.

Legalize it. Grow it in America. Tax it, fairly heavily. As much as boose and tobacco.

Slice off the u-no-whats of anyone selling it to kids.

Less dangerous than boose. Feds must take it off schedule 1.

Time to take the money away from cartels and give to good ol' Murican farmers. Prohibition only creates criminals.

Decriminalize. Not Legalize. Feds must take it off schedule 1.

Menlo Voter is a registered user.

It should be legalized as should all other drugs. I spent 10 years arresting people for use, possession, and sales. It did ZERO good. We should spend the money currently pissed away on the "war on drugs" to treat those that can't use drugs without abusing them. It would cost far less money and would have the added benefit of not creating a "prohibition" scenario in which crime and murder pays. If it isn't illegal the profit incentive is gone. Anyone bootlegging these days? Nope. No money in it.
