First 8 PM Sunset in 2014 tonight

Menlo Park will have the first sunset of 2014 at 8 PM tonight. For the next 106 nights the sun will set at 8 PM or later. August 15 will be the last 8 PM sunset for the year. Enjoy the sunshine.

Have to rain on this parade, I'm afraid.

Unless I am mistaken in my arithmetic, the time vis a vis sunset is 7 p.m., not 8 p.m.

Daylight Savings Time is a pox on the natural rhythms of three of our planet's four seasons. I look forward to its end every fall and sneer heartily albeit quietly at its re-emergence in the spring.
