Monday seminar: Sea level challenges in San Mateo County

As the climate changes, the coastline of San Mateo County may change as well. Assemblyman Rich Gordon and county Supervisor Dave Pine are inviting the public to a Monday, Dec. 9, morning seminar on "Meeting the Challenges of Sea Level Rise in San Mateo County."

John Englander has been quoted as saying:

"50 feet of sea level rise is already a certainty"

"...6 feet of sea level rise in as little as 30 - 40 years."

Six feet in the next 35 years requires over 50 mm/yr of sea level rise. That's a ridiculous claim.

says 3.2 mm/yr and shows no signs of any acceleration.

I hope some one at next Monday's meeting asks Mr. Englander about these quotes. I hope they ask him when this acceleration from 3 mm/yr to over 50 mm/yr is going to occur?
