Do not hold your breath. I suspect tehjudge will be reluctant to confront the legislature directly. And our legislature wants to spend the money for union construction, even if the project is never finished and is a complete waste.
I am hoping, but not optimistic.

HSR under construction is also funding hundreds of millions of work for Caltrain electrification. Interesting that electrification is seen as great waste for Menlo Park.
PROP1A Funds require matching funds and so do Fed Funds that expire in 2017. The plan is to spend the Fed funds first and then Prop1a Matching to electrify Caltrain.
Basically it's a sure thing that Caltrain electrification will be canceled with HSR unless someone has a plan for raising hundreds of millions of dollars for the project.
Don't worry, people can still drive to work thanks to the expansion on 101. Also kudos tp MP for allowing the El Camino Real Development and permitting those new homes.

@ joe: there was a previous court ruling that determined that the HSR funds could not be used to pay for CalTrain projects such as electrification. So no need for the rant and guilt trip.
