It's quite unclear to me why the interest of local fixed food vendors should trump the interest of regular citizens.

When did town councils care about the needs of individual citizens? Why let people buy a three dollar burrito when they can get a six dollar one that will taste like cardboard? When food trucks start padding a few palms, then they will be allowed, but then they'll have to charge six dollars for a burrito. Kapeesh?

If there's a food truck that's selling burritos for $3 and is on the list for towns like Portola Valley, I'd like to know what its name is.
There is almost nothing inexpensive sold from a gourmet food truck, the kind that visit towns like Portola Valley. It's not a cheap meal. You pay through the nose for everything.
It is a different meal and it may even be a better tasting meal in general, given the pressure a food truck is under to do things rights. They do not have a captive clientele. Word probably gets around.

food trucks don't compete with parkside which is they only restaurant in the town proper. ladera restaurants don't really factor into the equation - at least they shouldn't for the town council.
