Where were these birds found? It would be helpful to know if they were found coastside or bayside -- near the SF border or south in the Menlo/Atherton area? Were they found in the Baylands or in a suburban area? This would give us more info about how to protect ourselves in these various locations. Maybe we don't need to worry about putting on bug spray in our suburban backyards -- or maybe we do?
Please dig into this info for us!

The dead birds were found in the city of San Mateo.
Bay City News Service reported: A Scrub Jay was reported Thursday in the Hillsdale area east of Alameda De Las Pulgas and an American Crow was reported Sunday in the Hayward park area, San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District Vector Ecologist Theresa Shelton said.
