President Barack Obama's job approval rating has plunged in the wake of the trifecta of scandals surrounding his administration, the Quinnipiac University poll has found.

Fewer than half the registered voters surveyed now believe Obama is "honest and trustworthy," according to the poll That figure had stood at 58 percent the last time the question was asked in September 2011. Now it is at 45 percent.

And it is the scandal involving the Internal Revenue Service that is hitting Obama the hardest, the survey found. The voters, who were surveyed between Wednesday last week and Tuesday of this week, believe that controversy is more worrying than those surrounding the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, or the seizure of phone records from journalists.

According to the Quinnipiac survey, more people now view the president negatively than positively. Slightly under half -- 49 percent -- say they have a negative view of Obama, while 45 percent have a positive view.

Menlo Observer won't comment on her errors in the first post, instead she deflects and shifts to polls. There's a reason to use a composite of numerous polls; after the last election, you would think conservatives would understand that. Or is Karl Rove still protesting that Romney has a chance?

About the Q poll, if you take other polls into the mix, you get the RCP results I posted this morning.

You know, I notice that M-O doesn't list the favorables of John Boehner, the House GOP or any other national GOP elected official. It is a well known fact that the IRS went after a couple of churches after it was revealed that ministers and/or guest speakers at church services gave anti-Bush and anti-Iraq war sermons.

I'm a registered independent. So I don't care what party it is - but it is no secret that IRS has been used to intimidate all sorts of people, companies and so on. Don't forget that Al Capone went to jail for tax evasion, not for murder and racketeering.

Eric Holder was a good jurist. Unfortunately when he joined the Obama Administration he allowed himself to be inveigled into committing crimes that he would not otherwise be predisposed to doing. Watch for a resignation in the following months. Another formerly good person falls on his sword to keep the corrupt Obama in power.

The only reasons he won the last election were:
1) Romney ran an ineefectively weak campaign, and
2) The press were actively campaigning for Obama

2016 will be a rebuilding year get get the United States back on track after 8 years of failed socialism. The prospects for the Democratic party are inauspicious at this point. However, the Republicans face the daunting task up proffering a candidate who can appeal outside the narrow focus of the right by opening the aperture with moderate social policies that will resonate with independents.

Right now the far right wing of the Republican Party is the Democrats last hope for the presidency in 2016. I for one hope that the moderate Republicans can win the battle with the far right and revitalize the Republican party and our great nation.

Mitt Romney was not a weak candidate. He was far better and stronger than the rest of the field. Solid business experience. Great family, with the wonderful George Romney as patriarch. Good looking, charming, clean, wholesome and smart enough to repeat all the right things.

In 1980 Ronald Reagan received 489 electoral votes. Jimmy Carter received 49 electoral votes. In 1984 Ronald Regan received 525 electoral votes and Walter Mondale only received 13. Even Bill Clinton's affair with Walter Mondale's daughter Eleanor Mondale did not help Walter Mondale.

In 2008 Barack Obama received 365 electoral votes and John McCain received 173 electoral votes. In 2012 Barack Obama received 332 electoral votes and Mitt Romney received 206 electoral votes.

Never in the history of our nation have there been victories like the back-to-back victories of Ronald Reagan. Obama does not even come close.

And before you libs make idiotic arguments about getting rid of the electoral college. Do you think for one moment that Joe Biden would agree to giving up 2/3 of Delaware's vote in every presidential election? Do you think Patrick Leahy would agree to giving up 2/3 of Vermont's vote in every presidential election. The answer is a resounding No.

Given the very unlikely event that a constitutional amendment to abolish the electoral college passed through both houses of Congress how do you propose to get 3/4 of the states to ratify if only 17 states would benefit to the detriment of 33 states.

So for presidential elections the popular vote is meaningless. Only the electoral vote counts. And thank God for that. It kept that blowhard Al Gore from becoming president. What a freaking disaster that would have been.

The "lib" bashers love to point to Reagan, but never acknowledge his party has left him while simultaneously lionizing him. Reagan couldn't make it past the primaries in today's GOP. Neither could either Bush.

But even with the fabrications about Clinton (Eleanor Mondale? c'mon now...), Clinton would cakewalk both the primaries and general if still eligible. The man is off the charts popular.

How could Gore have been a worse disaster than the known disaster called Bush? Taking surpluses and doubling the national debt? Nope, Bush 'won' that one! Two almost endless wars with no possible "victory"? Nope, Bush 'won' that also!

Becoming a post election success? Did Bush win that by virtue of his paintings? Nice try, Dubya, though we do ALL appreciate your hiding yourself from the public due to the shame. When Bush took office the National Debt was $5.662T. When he left office the national debt was 10.700T. The increase to the national debt was $5.038T or .630T per year.

When Obama took office the National debt was 10.700T and is now 16.745T. In 4 years and 5 months Obama has increased the Debt 6.045T or 1.369T a year. So for every dollar Bush ran up the debt Obama has run up the debt by $2.17.

Obama is running up the national debt far greater than Bush could have dreamed of doing. Tax and Redistribute Socialism at work.

Funny, no one defends Bush opposed to Gore anymore. Quite understandable. Gore may be quite the wooden bore, but has been proved correct regarding his views on climate change and the Iraqi war.

I voted for every Republican since President Gerald Ford, except in 2004. I am proud of my votes for Mr. Reagan, and somewhat for George Bush (father) and Mr. Dole, though Mr. Clinton certainly had his success in cutting government. My vote for Bush (son) makes me sad. I did not vote for him in 2004. I voted for Senator McCain. I held my nose and voted for Mitt Romney. I don't think if Mr. Romney won, I do not know if I would be very proud of my vote if I make it another 20 years; that was a difficult choice. We shall never know.

As to the debt, Bush had the first trillion dollar deficit and left a terrible economy, the worst in my lifetime. We are on the correct track with jobs compared to where Bush left us. It is certainly not up to snuff, but who is to blame for that?

I do not understand anyone, especially conservatives, defending George W. Bush. He will be viewed as the worst president in recent history, at least since Nixon. Mr. Obama has done a reasonable job digging us out of the hole George Bush left.

Liberals (despite the occasional self-induced hopeful delusions that Obama was a true liberal) knew all along that the two most centrist candidates in 2008 were Obama and Hillary. Obama hasn't changed from centrist, despite the blowhard above who constantly screams "SOCIALIST!" at the top of his lungs, because that's what MO's media choices tell him.

Now MSNBC is now withdrawing support for Eric holder. MSNBC sometimes refered to as MSLSD for its far left views is no longer defending Eric Holder.

If Holder decides to "spend more time with his family" it won't be for the crimes he has allegedly committed; it will be because he is a political liability. In Obama's eyes Executive Branch members can commit all the crimes they want in furtherance of the Obama administration's goals; just don't get caught. Unfortunately for Holder he got caught.

Not that the Senate budget is any more likely to pass the House than the House Austerity Budget will pass the Senate, but the Senate passed it's budget around the same time in late March.

Of course, the most interesting budget proposal didn't pass either branch. It's the budget that creates jobs, rebuilds America's infrastructure, hires teachers, and balances itself far faster than Paul Ryan's budget.

Democratic presidential candidates have won the popular vote in something like 6 of the last 7 elections. Things are bad, but there is a core. They need to do a LOT of work in statehouses, as well as curb all gerrymandering, even their own.

The dems "core" is in California and New York which is where all the extra popular votes came from for Clinton. The dems lost the fly over states and much of that like Michigan used to be a strong part of their base. No more. As long as we have an Electoral College the popular vote doesn't matter as far as that's concerned. Until the dems start appealing to the states that matter they won't matter.

Only lost Michigan Wisconsin and Pennsylvania by approximately 100k votes.

Do not belittle winning the economic engines of America - CA and the coastal "elites". Red state welfare wouldn't work if it was just Iowa sending money to Wyoming.

Clinton lost. Trump lost the popular vote by 3 million and his thing skin hates that.

The popular vote doesn't mean anything in the Presidential election and it NEVER has. It's about the electoral college. If candidates are smart they play to the electoral college which is what actually gets them elected. Clinton blew it.
