Now records reveal that the IRS commissioner Shulman had visited the White House more than 157 times during the Obama Administration and only once during the Bush Administration. Bush respected the independence of the IRS and never used it to go after political enemies. Obama, of course got caught doing exactly that, and now is trying to worm his way out of it.
The House will be investigating this and the Obama Administration will continue to abuse its power by attempting to thwart the investigation. This brings back memories of Watergate. If the evidence gathered points to criminal activity on the part of the President then that would be considered High Crimes and Misdemeanors.
The White House-DOJ-IRS fiasco will most certainly keep Nancy Pelosi on the sidelines during the remainder of the Obama 2nd term as the Republicans gain seats in the House during the 2014 mid-term election. Republicans could even pick up enough votes to win the Senate.
But Democrats should not worry. There won't be enough votes in the Senate to convict Obama on House impeachment charges. So the disgraced Obama will limp along during his last two years as a wounded president with waning influence.
The Democratic Party, in the interest of self preservation, will abandon him politically as it tries to distance itself from Obama in hopes of salvaging the 2016 presidential election.
