MPCSD really doesn't have the right to crow about their high test scores for white and Asian students if other groups don't have an even playing field, so kudos to Ms. Devoto for a very worthwhile effort. Unfortunately, though, this particular program is targeted to minority groups, while other underperforming students who would could also benefit -- such as those with learning differences or disabilities -- are not included. Hillview should find a way to widen this approach not only to include 6th graders, but to include any and all students who are not performing to grade-level norms.

"engages at risk students" equals "teaching to the test"
When is the high-priced superintendent Ghysels finally going to step out from behind the ladies and start earning his money?
