Tonight: Council weighs Walgreens alcohol appeal

Beer and wine are on the menu for the next meeting of Menlo Park's City Council. Walgreens has appealed the Planning Commission's 4-3 denial of a permit to sell beer and wine at its Santa Cruz Avenue store.

This speaks for itself. If the Menlo Park City Council cares about regular citizens, which I doubt, they will ignore and reject the complaints of an established merchant about a new store.

Competition is supposed to be the American way of business, but sadly we are tying everything up in red tape and politics these days.

whoda thunk? Beltramos against someone else in town being able to sell alcohol? The sad thing is that Beltramos doesn't sell the cheap crap Walgreens will be selling so they really aren't competition.
