Panel finds flaws in high-speed-rail forecasts

The California agency charged with building America's first high-speed-rail system has been using a flawed forecasting model to predict ridership for the proposed system, a peer-review panel concluded in a report that largely confirms previous criticism from transportation experts and rail watchdogs.

Finally! My thanks to whomever it was that commissioned this group. The "Survey Design" was clearly wrong.

No kidding? Who'da thunk? Gee weren't those same "too flawed" ridership numbers the same numbers they used to sell this boondoggle to the voters?

It's time the legislature steps up a kills this project before it ends up costing our grandchildren and their grandchildren billions of dollars this state can ill afford to spend on a project that is un-needed and costly in the extreme.
