Atherton's embarrassment of riches

So are you proposing the town just keep spending any surplus revenues on expensive in-house staffed services instead of trying to save funds where it can?

Or maybe it will be necessary for the town to use any surplus money to help defray the costs caused by the vexatious litigants that pop up as in the whack a mole game every few months. I guess we can blame the town's effort towards cost cutting / outsourcing city staff /services on paying off these clowns.

I didn't see anybody propose anything. I only read that Atherton is either breaking even on the building department or making money off of it. If this is the case then it lays to waste the argument that we can't afford to provide building services in house.

My sense is that Danielson wanted to flush the building department and public works down the toilet because he didn't like the smell emanating from those two departmens.

If that's the case then it would seem as though Danielson's action is vindication of the former Finance Director's audits.

It is strange really. Atherton lies about its finances because it dosen't want to admit it made a mistake in firing Johns. It doesn't want to admit that Johns was right when he called attention to the corruption that ran rampant in that trailer across the street from Town Hall.

The problem is that if Atherton doesn't admit its mistakes, it will never be able to correct them.
