Judge: Bookkeeper deserves more time for embezzlement at Roger Reynolds Nursery

Original post made on Apr 16, 2011

Some Americans are celebrating Emancipation Day, but probably not Evette Christine Weiler. A judge has decided that a woman who had pleaded no contest to embezzling $140,000 from Roger Reynolds Nursery in Menlo Park deserved a longer jail sentence than the 16 months promised under the plea bargain.

Clearly, every penny DOES count. What a loser to do that to a small business during this horrid economy. She & that scumsucker Kimball Allen, the Greenmeadows HOA guy, should share a cell together to help balance our state's budget.

So, what was it the judge said that scared this woman so much?

Nice to see, Hon. Judge Liza Novak says NO I will not allow the plea bargain of only 16 months for this alleged crime.

Roger Reynolds and other small businesses need our help and support to continue to remain in business. We need less government and more entreprenueurship.

Christine, I was just thinking of Roger Reynolds this morning. It's our favorite nursery. It's more expensive than some of the chain stores, but the plants are much better quality. We have grown puntarelle for months last fall through spring and it was wonderful. It's considered a chi chi delicacy but we bought it for its hardiness. In addition to enjoying it the traditional way, we made pesto with it and it was wonderful. We're on a strict budget but that also means weighing value along with price. That's why we shop at Roger Reynolds and we have friends from 30 miles away who do the same due to their quality plants. Thanks for the reminder.
