Just an early Xmas gift from the council. Anything goes in the council's efforts to discourage shopping (or living) in Menlo Park.

Is it true that Menlo Park already had the most expensive overtime parking fines on the Peninsula?

MP council is encouraging people to park in the neighbor hoods, then
walk to the shopping area. Clog the residential streets ! Of course
the walk would be good for us as well. They don't patrol the side streets as often as the parking lots.

They can't decide how to fix the parking but can sure pass on the fees!

If I'm doing the math correctly, $50000 divided by $3 is 16667. Divide that by 250 weekdays per year (52 x 5 reduced by a few days of parking amnesty during the holidays) and the number of tickets per day is roughly 66.

Going back the other way - 16667 x $45 = $750000 per year.

No wonder they don't want to make the parking more customer-friendly down here.

Sheesh!

Oh great. An even higher fine every time I forget to move the car in at night.
