Money decides elections? Why have elections just declare the person with the biggest pot the winner. It is the qualification of the person that count and their platform, not how much they raised from parties interested in who is inthe office for possible return of favors.

This is just another way for the papers to put D.H's name out to the public and make it look like he is ahead/winning/leading etc.

Horsley wasn't that great as sheriff, but at least he didn't get busted visiting prostitutes. I recall when he was ignorant enough about the law to talk about outlawing certain breeds of dogs, without having done his legal research. To those informed in this area, he came across as ignorant and attention-grabbing. Ugh.

I am delighted that Don Horsley won. Don is a candidate with a proven record of leadership. April Vargas hasn't proven herself as a leader. My Coastside friends didn't vote for her because she was ineffective on the Midcoast Community Council. No one attended her meetings. With April you get a person with some good ideas but a person who can't relate to the public at large. Her public persona is awkward.
