Police arrest 167 on suspicion of DUI; 113 vehicles screened in Atherton, but no arrests

Police in the Bay Area have arrested 167 drivers since Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the California Highway Patrol, up slightly since 2009. At a checkpoint Friday night in Atherton, officers screened 113 vehicles and made no DUI arrests.

On the way to the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, we saw dozens of drunk drivers weaving all over the roads, going through lights and generally being obnoxious. We just stayed overnight and drove in this AM

Too bad they have announce the check points ! Some law maker must have been busted & now the police have to tell the drunks where they are at, so they can use a different way home ! Way to go legal eagles !
