Admissions to a California public university is a gantlet these days, with deep cuts in budgets for the University of California and California State University systems. Community colleges offer equivalent freshmen and sophomore classes that are much smaller and much less expensive. It's Cañada College; Canada is somewhere entirely different.

The pain of the failed California Higher Eduction System goes on and on. For us, it is now entering its 3rd year, trying to get one child through college. Just so some of the readers know: this is the 3rd Semester at SFSU where on her allocated registration hour there was not a single seat nor a single waiting list spot on the classes she needs to graduate. And go figure: no priority for Seniors. Each semester she has been able to beg for seats, but at most it is 2 classes per semester. So figure out the ongoing cost, not only to her paying parents but to her life too. The actual graduation rate will continue to decline, as the young people give up on what used to be their dream too!

adding two years in high school would be a very efficient way in helping a country's educational attainment rate increase...thank you..
