We should have a block party on November 3rd to celebrate the forced retirement of two Menlo Park City Council members who have promoted Employee Union intersts at the expense of the residents' welfare.

Suppose they had an election and no body voted ! Then what?

It is criminal that the the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Menlo Park have banned the MPDA from being on Santa Cruz Avenue during this event.

The MPDA is just comprised of property owners and merchants that are against the parking garages, and the random rezoning in the downtown area.

They want change, and propose a smaller parking structure behind Flegel's. Should they not have an opportunity to oppose this issue at the City Block Party?

I want to have respect for main people behind the downtown alliance (Flegel did a lot on the old Santa Cruz street improvements, for example), but jeez- this planning process has been so well publicized and open. Calling it "random" just boggles the mind. Maybe we wouldn't be in this place if some of the absentee owners contributed to the Chamber over the past three or whatever years, instead of waiting until the end and throwing up smoke screens. Let's take a breath and keep working at it.
