Update: Wiest files papers for Atherton council race

This guy has lived in Atherton for all of about six months, never attended a council meeting. Clearly Elizabeth Lewis and the unions and big real estate she represents need to find candidates -- and keep Furth around at all costs -- to prevent a rout in November.

The mysterious Weist guy is Hennig's new neighbor.
If the stealthy Rose Hau has filed papers then it is she who is intended as Elizabeth's fellow dragon lady. Weist is probably just cover.
Lewis and Hau must be figuring that Carlson is toast--poor guy probably thinks he has their votes.

What makes you think he is not a friend of Mayor McKeithen and Mr. Dobbie?

The answer is I don't know for sure but the records show October 2009 a purchase in Atherton. Hope that helps

He's in real estate. Just like Lewis. Let him help San Mateo County. We have enough real estate influence in Atherton. Way too much actually.

I laughed out loud when I heard Weist was in real estate--everyone I talk to was guessing all last week that this guy would turn out to be Steve Ackley's latest plant on the council to prop up Elizabeth..
We have enough problems already...we don't need the county machine in here to cover up all attempts for transparency.
So...it's going to be a slate of Carlson, Rose Hau, and Cary Weist for status quo
vrs Dobbie, William Widmere, Mcpherson and or Lively for reform

I'd definitely put McPherson in the status quo column.

If Mark Church had anything to do with him, then I smell a rat. SM County Board of Stupidvisors is corrupt to the core siding with special interest and deep pockets.

As of today there is not one candidate who has completed the paperwork.

Yeah Michael--I scrolled thru your link to Atherton and you are correct. I Don't really know how the filing process works-but sure hope that Atherton admin dosen't bungle how the papers get forwarded on.
I'm afraid almost nothing would surprise me at this point.
