Will the Concerned "Citizens" of Menlo Park (aka Draeger's/Beltramo's) sue on this too?

I will be very surprised if the Concerned Citizens will not act on it.

What is Bevmo?
A pot growing firm or an alcohol distributorship?
I sure sounds like something to get all worked up about.
This entire area filled with "concerned citizens" is to be applauded for their relentness pursuit of keeping the Peninsula perfect.
More lawsuits too....wow.
I'll bet the only person not concerned who lives in the Peninsula is
the head of Apple.
Rumor has it that the plans for his new home are absolutely very non traditional according to this area.
Get some attornies lined up for that eventuality in case Steve Jobs does build a flying saucer shaped residence....hear it will be so not "Peninsula"....Get him now that he is down a billion.

We got a mailing today from "Preserve Menlo's Uniqueness" exhorting us to fight this Big International Chain to protect Local Small Business. But it was otherwise unsigned. Note to whoever's behind this: sign your letters, it shows both courage and courtesy.
Also, 2010 isn't 2006. We could sure use the jobs. And the El Camino location that already houses a Staples doesn't seem a bad fit for a BevMo.

Chris:

got the same mailer. My money is on Beltramos and Draegers for this piece of trash. I think a Bevmo in that location is just fine. Only an idiot goes to Beltramos looking for a bargain. If I'm looking for a bargain or a five cent sale I go to the Bevmo in Redwood City. It's really not that far. Certainly not far enough away to make me go to Beltramos. A Bevmo in town will be nice but is not required. Honestly I don't see a Bevmo really pulling people away from Beltramos. If I'm looking for something unusual Beltramos is where I go. Bevmo doesn't carry that kind of stuff.

Haven't seen the latest mailer - even though I'm an MP resident - but I wonder if it's like the last one: Check this box if you don't want BevMo moving in and mail it back.

The last mailer had no box to check if you were in favor (or didn't care).

Of course it's Draegers and Beltramos.

I'll be interested to see how MP handles this. Seems that whenever Draegers says "frog" the City jumps.
