Council Member Cohen Is On The Loose.

Menlo Park Council member Andy Cohen has filed a complaint with the State FPPC regarding a possible conflict of interest that Redwood City Council member Roseanne Foust has. She is both the president of SAMCEDA, which supports the Cargill development of 12,000 houses on a former salt pond and a council member that has the power to approve the development.

This conflict of interest may force Foust to step aside when it comes time for the Redwood City council to vote on this damaging development. However, how odd that a city council member from one city would file a complaint about another council member from a different city. This suspected conflict has been in the news for months. Was there not a Redwood City resident who could have filed a complaint about his or her own council member?

It's one thing for the City of Menlo Park to pass a resolution opposing the Cargill development being that the impacts will spill over to all the surrounding towns.

Mr. Cohen is full of surprises and I look forward to his explanation whenever he chooses to explain himself.

Interesting coincidence this shows up just after Andy Cohen posts a complaint about the Chair of the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce having an apparent lapse in understanding the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Glad to read all about this poster's problem with checking out whether someone is actually following a state law too, and an ethics one at that! Silly me, I guess laws don't matter, U.S. Constitution, state ethics laws, or otherwise?

Care to explain that posting "coincidence"? Seems politics are alive and well here as usual...
