Ummm...One, two....counting here...people who get it.
Does anyone understand why it is this way?
Who is behind motivating Wynne Furth to present the Town's legal positions as she does? This is an extremely relevant question, I suggest.
Do Charles and Elizabeth and the developers wield this much power? Do you really believe that by some magic they can conjure up protection for Charles from the Town because they are more influential than ethical people in the government such as Dobbie or Mckeithen and others?
Has anyone considered the positions on these issues of the numerous enormously wealthy and influential individuals resident in the town?
Do I really need to mention names?
Is it possible that others are at work who find ethics laughable based on the principles by which they have amassed fortunes, power and influence of which you will never know anything? no matter how wealthy and privileged you think you are?
Is it possible that they are comfortable with the fact that their manipulative suppression makes them complicit with those who may have committed criminal or at the least negligent acts...that there is even a certain identification there?
Why is it that WHOEVER commits a transgression in this town is protected and the events and facts are suppressed, not investigated, not prosecuted by the DA...unless you represent a threat to public exposure like John Johns? and when there is an investigation, that is is resisted and an attempted white-wash is instituted as with the Building Department audit. Yes...as as bad as it was, it revealed maybe 15% of the true extent of damage...and, Mr. Hines, if anyone wants to challenge this, rest assured, they won't, because the facts are there to be revealed in legal discovery process.
I continue to suggest that there is nothing more important to the true controlling powers in this town than the suppression of the revelation of wrongdoing to the public.
I am a very simple minded man. I just look at what happens.
It's all I've ever done. I see what is.

Who is the direct supervisor of Wynne Furth?
Who lays down the guidelines for how she is to slant things?
Just the other day, someone far, far on the other side of the line from this, said that the job of the Town Attorney is to protect the Town.
Protect the Town from WHAT???
If I managed this woman, or man, in this office, I would damn well tell you now, that the ethics of my directive would not be to protect the reputation of the Town from the effect of the public revelation of miscreant actions of its elected, appointed or employed persons.
The best protection for the reputation of the Town is the crushing of illegal and miscreant conduct, regardless of the consequence and, through this, the re-establishment of utter credibility in the eyes of EVERYONE by doing so...Or am I missing something??? Please give me a break.
Is the Police Department really this threatening, powerful and all-controlling of this situation that EVERYONE is folding in fear before them? They should be removed and replaced. They are your EMPLOYEES!!!
Why is it so hard for you to see who is responsible for what's going on and remove them from office?
What is wrong with everyone here???

Just a Thought - let me suggest a middle ground on anonymous postings. There are two issues with anonymous postings, source credibility and accountability.
Source credibility can be established by an anonymous poster ALWAYS using the same anonymous name - over time we will be able to calibrate the value of their opinion by seeing their consecutive postings - looking at content, logic and respectfulness. Their actual identify then becomes less important.
With regard to accountability IF anonymous posters become Registered Users of the Town Forum then the editorial staff can properly follow up on any unacceptable behavior/postings as they will have the person's real name and contact information.
