John has done a great service to our community in his advocacy for a police oversight function. I am confident that wisdom will prevail and that the Town Council, either the current one or the new one after the November election, will see the value of a citizen led police oversight function.

I attended the March 17, 2010 meeting. I have to admit I was surprised to hear some of the statements made by some of the council members.
Council member Jerry Carlson indicated that he had not heard any compelling arguments made for the existence of citizen review. I personally have told him at least 3 times that at least one APD Officer has committed a felony against Mr. Buckheit and this officer has not been identified by the City Manager or the Police Chief to this day.
Charles Marsala was more concerned with protecting a thief, instead of protecting a citizen. He also knew that a past Police Chief committed a crime against Mr. John John's and did nothing to report the crime to the DA'S Office.
Council Member Jim Dobbie said that he could not support a citizen review board until Chief Guerra had been on the job for one year. His current Chief has had over 60 days to identify the Officer(s) who committed a felony against Mr. Jon Buckheit he sees no problem with this.
Currently the majority of council members support Police Officers committing crimes against residents. Its just that simple
