Please make this meeting information available in the Palo Alto Daily News and the Palo Alto Weekly as well.
Thank you.
What a scam this rail thing is. This is not the time or the place for such a wastefull undertaking. Keep that crazyness out of our town.
The motivation by these posters to prevent the expansion of business in California reeks of ignorance, and arguments which will have to defy laws of stupidity when basically it amounts to NOISE.......
NOT progress, jobs, or people who make less than $200,000 a year.It is clear those who object are doing it in the name of keeping property values undisturbed even though, with good planning, it could prove a boon.
J'accuse.
I would have liked to be at the city council chambers today to hear the latest. Some of us do have to work at 2:30 in the afternoon. I begin to wonder why they would schedule such a meeting at that hour of the day unless they are trying to avoid the comments of some of us??? What is going on here?
Whatever the strategy may have been, it apparently backfired. I understand that the meeting was packed with residents opposing HSR. The people making the presentation were over their head and unable to provide adequate responses to the thoughtful questions posed by attendees.
R. Gordon, are you aware of the number of high school seniors who will be unable to attend college next year thanks to draconian reductions in class sizes at the UCs and Cal States? That ignorance you so rightly fear is occurring precisely because the state has chosen to mortgage the future of our young adults in favor of promoting 19th century technology.
