Atherton Celebrates Black History Month

Original post made by malcom, Atherton: West Atherton, on Feb 3, 2010

What Do Jon Buckheit and Rosa Parks have in common? On the surface not much. One is a white male born during the second half of the last century to an upper middle class family, while the other was a black female born in the earlier part of the last century to a family living in near poverty.

The things that Rosa Parks and Jon Buckheit do have in common is that both stood up and stood their ground in opposition to an abuse of authority and the world is better for it.

Heroism comes in many shapes, sizes and colors.

I went to part of the trial. What Jon did was help us clean up our town. He's a good man. A stand up guy.

Hey Gimme a break. What about the cop that asked for a 10,000.00 loan from a private resident. Atherton needs cleaning up.

It's so nice to see Mr. Hine being uniformly vigilant about deleting ad hominem attacks.

Hey Gimme,

I think the Fact that someone in the Atherton Police Department committed a Felony had more of a role in the judges' ruling than the photo you mention. Also if in Fact his attorney did do it pro bono even more reason to thank him, because he was awarded his legal fees.
