When Yolanda Astarita Patterson was an undergrad at Smith College majoring in French, there wasn't much debate over who should occupy the pedestals erected in the world of letters. It was the 1950s, and the authors she read were men. But the world opened up for her, outside the classroom, when she discovered the works and ideas of French author Simone de Beauvoir. So sorry you did not get this in on time. (Event the 8th, published online on the 9th.)
I think this is the first error of this sort I have seen, so no complaints!
I love it when you write these very personal neighbor stories! I see Yolanda and her husband Guy walking the streets of Ladera almost daily, and they are to me an image of how staying active can keep you healthy.
Congratulations Yolanda: sorry I missed the talk but I how you will do it again.
