Armed men invade, rob Menlo Park home

Two men armed with semiautomatic handguns confronted a resident outside his home in the 700 block of Pierce Road at around 6:30 p.m. Monday night (Nov. 16), forced him inside the home, and held him and his girlfriend at gunpoint while they looted "several electronic items and an undisclosed amount of cash," according to Menlo Park police.

When only outlaws have guns and the outlaws don't give them up the rest of us will be helpless sheep. These invasions will only increase and we will be at the whim of the armed wolves.

Thanks, but I'd rather not rely on some geezer with a hand gun to ensure my safety. That's why civilized societies have professional police forces, not roaming bands of heavily armed vigilantes.

Professional police are not there to protect you. They enforce the law, most often after the fact that it had been broken. Im not endorsing vigilantes. Won't you be the first one to complain that the police didn't protect you after you have been robbed, brutalized, whatever?

Why don't you rely on yourself for your own safety? Why shouldn't I be allowed to protect myself from armed thugs trying to break into my house?

Geezer with a handgun? Does being old make you feeble? Incapable of good judgement? Unworthy of protection? Remember, God made man, Samuel Colt made them equal.
