I hope the Coastal Commission DOES get an award. I know there are lots of (lucky) landowners along the coast who resent the mandate of the Coastal Commission to protect our coast, but I certainly prefer the coast in its lovely uncluttered glory to the typical coastline in the US, crowded with houses and tacky businesses. If R. Gordon is a coastal property owner, I hope he/she isn't the graceless rich sort who whine about impositions on use of their wealth. Too tacky!

As a matter of fact, one of the Woodside venture capitalists DOES have the most expensive beach houses(till Santa Barbara)directly on the ocean five more in Woodside all held under a TRUST.
The Coastal Commission sure has waived a lot permits in order for him to rebuild a house on what is basically an underground river running beneath the structure which also gained about 1200 sq. ft. in the seven year construction process. There is not ONE permit for any work except adding a SAUNA which used to be a gardener's shed and now is a guest house. The ONLY permit was to add a pitched roof and the California Coastal Commission played as dumb as did the San Mateo Bldg. commission. Now THAT'S TACKY!
