Nathan Ford of Portola Valley named athlete of the year at Cornell

Portola Valley resident Nathan Ford, a graduate of Palo Alto High School's class of 2005, was named athlete of the year by the Cornell Daily Sun, Cornell's newspaper. Ford, a recent Cornell graduate, played football and baseball for Cornell throughout college. He was a three-year starting quarterback.

silly question, but how can a Portola Valley resident be a graduate of Palo Alto High School?
