Bill promised my Mom that he would watch over me at Champaign and he did a good job. He gave me the guidelines of living in the House of O and introduced me to Mr. O and his helper Roger. One of the first days that Bill and I were in the kitchen and Bill was cooking, Mr O said " you're using too much current. that was one of Bill's favorite lines. We used to get up early Saturday morning's and go ice skating at the rink on campus. I remember Bill was a pretty good skater. I am going to jump forward a few years while my memory is cooperating and tell you Bill held on to Baby Whitney on horse back when we visited one year. And then of course Whitney had to tell me that I was sitting in Bill's chair during a visit. During our younger years, Bill and I had access to small colored balls of the explosive kind. I think that they were called pops. Anyway Bill's Mom got one thinking that it was candy and unfortunately bit into it. She was OK just super pissed. We had a couple of hills that we used to sled down when there was enough snow. I do remember on one ride down a hill behind Schuhart's house where I caught a strand of barb wire fencing on my left elbow. I still have a scar to prove it. Anyway, Kathy, Cindy and I are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
