Portola Valley schools closed on Oct. 10 when PG&E cut off power due to a high fire risk in the area.

During the shutoff, officials held classes by lantern, according to an Oct. 28 district email to parents. Teachers engaged students in non-tech lessons: "reading, writing, playing."

The event will be in the multi-use room at the school, 4575 Alpine Road in Portola Valley.
