Atherton: tree lighting ceremony tonight

The town of Atherton will celebrate the holidays with a tree lighting ceremony tonight, Dec. 5, in Holbrook-Palmer Park.

There will be hot chocolate served, holiday arts and crafts projects and photos with Santa Claus, according to the town. Town officials will also illuminate the park's water tower during the event.

Menlo-Atherton High School's choir will perform seasonal songs, according to the town's Twitter account.

The event takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the park at 150 Watkins Ave.
