Atherton: Burglar steals $1,000 from Menlo School

Someone stole $1,000 from Menlo School last weekend, according to the Atherton Police Department.

Sometime between Friday, Oct. 18, at 2:30 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 21, at 9 a.m., someone stole the cash from an office at the private Atherton school located at 50 Valparaiso Ave., said Atherton Police Cmdr. Joe Wade. It did not appear that anything else was taken from the school office.

The suspect appeared to use keys from an unlocked desk to gain entry into the office, Wade said. There is no camera footage of the incident, he said.

The case remains under investigation.
