Atherton: Fair Oaks Avenue rail crossing closed overnight Thursday

The Fair Oaks Avenue railroad crossing in Atherton will be closed overnight on Thursday, Feb. 14, for construction.

The crossing will close at 8 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, according to a town of Atherton press release. Caltrain contractor Balfour Beatty will be installing foundations in the vicinity of the crossing for the Peninsula Corridor Electrification Project.

Drivers should use alternate routes during the closure. There will be detour signs directing traffic to Watkins Avenue, according to the press release.
