Atherton will host a community workshop to discuss the town's general plan update Wednesday evening, Feb. 13.
The general plan is considered the blueprint for Atherton's future, as it establishes policies and guidelines to develop and preserve the quality of life in the town, according to a town blog post.
The plan is made up of six sections: land use, circulation, noise, housing, open space and conservation, and community safety. The town is updating all elements except housing.
From December 2017 to December 2018, planning staff presented administrative draft updates to each of the general plan elements under review to the town's Planning Commission in at public meetings.
After the community workshop, staff will take comments on each draft element, according to the town's blog post.
When the public circulation and review period ends, staff will present a final draft general plan update to the Planning Commission at a meeting this spring, according to the town. The commission will review the plan and make a recommendation to the City Council.
The workshop is from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Jennings Pavilion in Holbrook-Palmer Park at 150 Watkins Ave. in Atherton.
