With an overtime victory against defending CCS champion St. Francis, Sacred Heart Prep girls' varsity water polo team used their home-pool advantage to win the inaugural West Catholic Athletic League championship November 9.

The final game was a see-saw battle, with Sacred Heart scoring the tying goal at the final buzzer, and sending the game into overtime. Sacred Heart slammed two goals in overtime to secure the victory and end its season with 22 wins and 6 losses.

The team counts six seniors who have played together since they were freshmen: Blair Adornato, Julia Browne, Zizi Clark, Courtney Clarke, Ann Pickard and Corinne Salera. Other varsity starters were: Bailey Samuels, Anne Deggelman, Genevive Ang, Ali Gramaglia, Molly McLaughlin, Carrie Paton, Janey Paton, Natalie Chrisman, Katie Murphy, Rebecca Child and Christie Clark.
