More math winners
Two Menlo Park students demonstrated their math agility by being among the top winners in the 19th annual Middle School Math Contest, sponsored by Crystal Springs Uplands School in Hillsborough.
Chris Rollins won first place in the seventh-grade competition. Nathaniel Shar placed second in the sixth-grade competition. Both boys attend Nueva Day School in Hillsborough, and their grade-level teams came in first.
More than 300 students from 17 schools throughout the Bay Area participated in the competition, known as the "big game," an afternoon of solving challenging math problems individually, and as part of a team.
